ManMachine – The Svalbard Cultural Expedition

In February, the Arctic Chamber Music Festival took place in Svalbard, with Voksenåsen serving as one of the festival’s partners for the first time. Performers included the Arctic Philharmonic, Tora Augestad, Yegor Shevsthov, and from Voksenåsen’s mentor program, Maya Broman Crawford-Phillips, Sebastian Egebakken Svenøy, the Saphir Quartet, and the Swedish-Norwegian star violinist Johan Dalene, who participated both as a soloist and as a mentor for Voksenåsen’s talents.

The Norwegian Embassy in Stockholm sent a cultural and press delegation to the festival, which led, among other things, to the podcast episode *Kulturexpeditionen Svalbard* by Nina and Johanna Piroth.

Kickoff weekend for the working group for the Nordic Youth Conference on Democracy 2026!

On the weekend of April 17–19, the working group for the Nordic Youth Conference on Democracy 2026 will gather at Voksenåsen to begin planning this fall’s conference.

The group consists of ten young people from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland. Over the weekend, they will get to know each other better, split into smaller working groups, and, not least, decide on this year’s theme.

They will also brainstorm the program, select designs for social media and merchandise, and begin shaping the conference’s style and content.

The possibilities are endless, and we look forward to meeting the young people and seeing what they come up with!
